Cross Country gets fired up for a strong fall season

The Muskingum University men's and women's cross country teams, under the direction of head coach Jacob Gleason, look to challenge for a top spot in the Ohio Athletic Conference this season. The Muskies return a total of seven letterwinners, two women and five men. Coach Gleason will also look to a blue-chip recruiting class to add depth and talent to each program.

Leading on the women's side will be junior Macy McAdams, sophomore Mikayla Deiotte, and senior Lauren Hunt. The men's team is guided by senior Douglas McIntire, junior John Franz, and senior Logan Skolosh.

McAdams, a Second Team All-OAC honoree, recorded a career-best 4k time of 15:51.00 at the Muskingum Invitational last season. She was also awarded the OAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for her outstanding performance at the Waynesburg Invitational. McAdams finished second with a career-best time of 21:27.2 averaging 5:45 per mile and guided the Muskies to a 5th place finish in the 11-team field.

Deiotte ended her freshman campaign with a career-best 4k time of 18:59.00 and a career-low 5k time of 21:53.9, while Hunt locked in a season-best 4k time of 17:26.00 and recorded a season-low 6k time of 23:35.06.

Last season, McIntire ran a career-best 8k time of 28:17.00 at the All-Ohio Championships. Skolosh locked in a season-best 8K time of 29.10.1 at the JennaStrong Invite, while Franz recorded a season-low 8k time of 29:59.8 at the All-Ohio Championships.

The Muskies begin their 2019 fall campaign on Friday, August 30, at the Kenyon Invitational.
