19th-ranked Volleyball stings Baldwin Wallace

The 19th-ranked Muskingum volleyball team stung the Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets on Saturday, 3-0 (25-13, 25-15, 25-21).

How It Happened

  • The Muskies secured set one (25-13), two (25-15), and three (25-21).
  • Junior Maddie McGee guided the Muskies with a team-high of 15 kills.
  • Junior Kaitlin Noble dished out eight kills, while junior Brynn Guist notched seven.
  • Junior Erin Dickson logged a team-best 32 assists.
  • Junior Brooke Fatheree secured 18 digs.
  • Junior Jessica Cottle anchored the backline with a game-high 23 digs.
  • Noble also registered three total blocks.

Inside The Sets

  • In set one, the Muskies registered back-to-back points to jump out to an early 9-4 lead over the Yellow Jackets. Muskingum registered five consecutive points to expand the gap to 20-8. Baldwin Wallace chipped away at the differential, but the Muskies could not be halted. A kill by junior Kaitlin Noble secured the 25-13 victory for the Muskies.
  • In set two, the Muskies and Yellow Jackets fought neck and neck with neither team gaining more than a two-point lead early on. Muskingum tallied ten unanswered points to give them a dominating 19-10 lead over Baldwin Wallace. The Yellow Jackets fought to close the gap, but the Muskies continued to control play. Muskingum secured the final point to take the set.
  • The battle continued into the third set until Muskingum registered a 6-2 run to slide past the Yellow Jackets with a score of 16-9. Baldwin Wallace registered four consecutive points to get within three points of the Muskies (22-19). A kill by Guist locked in the 25-21 triumph for Muskingum.
