Fatheree and Cottle named OAC Volleyball Players of the Week

The Ohio Athletic Conference has announced that 21st-ranked Muskingum junior outside hitter Brooke Fatheree and junior libero Jessica Cottle were named the OAC Volleyball Players of the Week for their outstanding performance last week. Fatheree and Cottle helped guide the Muskies to a 3-0 record on the week and their 12th straight-set victory of the 2019 season.

The Muskies, under the guidance of Fatheree and Cottle, defeated both Kenyon and John Carroll in three straight-sets and conquered the 22nd-ranked Wittenberg Tigers in four sets.

Fatheree guided the Muskies with 40 kills on 105 total attempts, registering a blistering .299 hitting percentage. She also tallied 29 digs and 47 points on the week. Fatheree is currently ranked first in the conference in kills per set (3.49). She is also ranked second in the league with 234 kills. This marks the second time this year that Fatheree has been coined the OAC Volleyball Player of the Week.

Cottle directed the Muskies with a team-high 58 digs, averaging 5.8 digs per set. She also registered five service aces in 10 sets played. Cottle is currently ranked fourth in the league in digs (326) and fifth in digs per set (4.94). 

The Muskies next travel to Wilmington to battle the Wilmington Quakers on Tuesday, October 8. Start time is slated for 7:00 p.m.
