Volleyball opens season with 4-0 record at St. Vincent Tournament

The Muskingum volleyball team spiked Franciscan and St. Vincent in straight sets on Friday to open the St. Vincent with a 2-0 record.

The Basics

  • The tournament is being hosted by St. Vincent. 
  • Following the tournament, senior Taylour Fatheree was named to the all-tournament team.

Game 1 - Muskingum 3, Franciscan (25-14, 25-18, 25-11)

How It Happened

  • As a team, the Muskies had 37 kills, 29 digs, and eight blocks.

  • Freshman Erin Dickson directed the attack with 28 assists.

Game 2 - Muskingum 3, St. Vincent 0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-16)

How It Happened

  • Muskingum recorded a team total 42 kills, 51 digs and eight blocks.

At The Net

  • Brooke Fatheree led the Muskies with 11 kills. She also added four assists and three service aces.
  • Plumly notched nine spikes.
  • Taylour Fatheree recorded seven spikes and three blocks.

Assisting the Attack

  • Dickson registered 32 assists.

Defending the Court

  • Nestoff led the backline with 18 digs.
  • Dickson added 10 digs.

Game 3 - Muskingum 3, La Roche 0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-14)

How It Happened

  • Muskingum recorded a team total 38 kills, 34 assists and nine blocks.

  • Dickson registered 26 assists.

  • Senior Taylour Fateree had five blocks.

Game 4 - Muskingum 3, Waynesburg 1 (25-9, 25-6, 23-25, 25-11)

How It Happened

  • Muskingum recorded a team total 60 kills, 69 digs and 13 blocks.

  • Plumley recorded a team-high 11 kills and added seven digs.
  • Brooke Fatheree had 10 kills.

  • Dickson registered 29 assists, while sophomore Kennedy Brown had 13 assists.

Defending the Court

  • Brandewie notched a team-best five blocks.
