Seitter sets Muskingum record for career digs at Rose-Hulman Tournament

Muskingum University senior libero Kim Seitter set the Muskingum record for career digs against Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Sunday at the Rose-Hulman Tournament.

Seitter logged 29 digs against the Fightin' Engineers to set the Muskingum record. She added another 18 digs against Webster University in the Muskies' final match to push her total digs to 1,897 during her tenure.

The Muskies beat Kenyon College to open tournament play, 3-2 (19-25, 15-25, 25-18, 25-10, 15-5). All-Ohio Athletic Conference honoree senior Hanna Rose had 13 kills, 15digs and two service aces. Freshman Katie Hunt added 10 kills and 5 blocks. Seitter added 22 digs and one ace, while freshman Kaleigh Hendrix directed the attack with 25 assists.

In their second match of the day, the Muskies fell to Defiance 3-0 (18-25, 19-25, 16-25). Junior Alexa Abrams hammered 7 kills with 14 digs. Sophomore Brooke Scott added 6 kills and one ace, while Seitter had 12 digs. The freshmen setting duo of Hendrix and Emily Francis registered for 16 and 12 assists, respectively.

On Sunday, the Muskies lost 3-1 (18-25, 25-15, 16-25, 15-25) to Rose Hulman and 3-0 (13-25, 17-25, 14-25) to Webster.

Against Rose-Hulman, Abrams had 9 kills and 19 digs. Seitter led the team in digs with 29, while Rose added 9 kills and 15 digs. Hendrix registered 18 assists, with Francis trailing close behind with 17.

Against Webster, Rose and Abrams had 7 and 5 kills, respectively. Hendrix assisted with 11 and Francis with 8. Helping in the back row, Seitter picked up 18 digs and sophomore Heather Smith added in 11.

Muskingum (6-3) will take the court again on Saturday, September 14 when they travel to Kenyon College. The game is slated for 2:00 p.m.
