Women's tennis drops battle against Capital

The Muskingum women's tennis team dropped a hard-fought battle against Capital on Friday afternoon, 9-0. The Muskies lost a pair of highly contested double matches, and two singles matches in three sets.

The Muskie first doubles tandem of junior Gracie Andrews and sophomore Amanda Plaskett fell 9-7 against Nicole Flock and Josie Nichols. The Muskies second doubles team of junior Evelyn Pauquette and freshman Scarlett Martell slipped 8-6 against Rachel Smith and Karen Kanke

In singles play, Martell suffered a three-set heartbreak at second singles against Smith 6-4, 2-6, 3-6. Junior Jane Boyer fell in three sets at fifth singles against Kylee Fliter 7-5, 0-6, 3-6.

Muskingum (2-3) next plays on Saturday, October 2, at Ohio Northern against Concordia, Mich. at 2:30 p.m. and the Polar Bears at 4:30 p.m.
