Women's Tennis falls at Lindner Tennis Fest

The Muskingum women's tennis team fell to the Ohio Northern Polar Bears (9-0), the Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets (8-1), and the Marietta Pioneers (6-1) at the Lindner Tennis Fest. 

In the Ohio Northern match, the Polar Bears swept first, second, and third doubles to jump out to an early 3-0 lead. Ohio Northern recorded back-to-back singles wins to lock in the 9-0 victory over the Muskies. 

In the Baldwin Wallace match, the Yellow Jackets took control of the match early on with victories in first, second, and third doubles. Baldwin Wallace clinched victories in five out of six singles en route to the dominating 8-1 win over the Muskies. Freshman Sara Welsh provided a spark for the Muskies with a 6-1, 6-2 triumph in third singles against Imani Robinson.

In the Marietta match, the Pioneers recorded wins in first, second, and third doubles to slide past the Muskies with a score of 3-0. Marietta took the match with victories in four out of six singles. Welsh registered her fifth victory of the season for the Muskies in third singles, while sophomore Kayla Hall and senior Peyton Morrow dropped a hard-fought 8-4 battle in second doubles. 

Muskingum next travels to Westerville, Ohio to battle the Otterbein Cardinals on Tuesday, April 16 in their last match of the season. Start time is slated for 3:30 p.m.
