Women's Tennis drops a hard-fought battle to Concordia

The Muskingum women's tennis team dropped a hard-fought battle to the Concordia University Cardinals on Tuesday, 7-2.

The Muskies secured their two wins via forfeits in third doubles and sixth singles. The Cardinals grabbed the early momentum in doubles play by capturing wins at first and second. Concordia clinched the match with wins at first, second, third, fourth, and fifth singles.

Freshman Sara Welsh and senior Peyton Morrow nearly secured wins in singles play. Welsh fell in second singles 4-6, 6-4, 10-7 against Kaylee Tucker, while Morrow slipped at fifth singles 1-6, 6-2, 11-9 against Hannah Sharon. 

Muskingum next hosts Capital on Wednesday, March 27 at Zanesville High School. Start time is slated for 2:30 p.m.
