Women's soccer beats Heidelberg on Pink Day to open conference play

The Muskingum women's soccer team beat Heidelberg on Pink Day to open Ohio Athletic Conference play on Saturday in McConagha Stadium, 3-2.

How It Happened

  • Muskingum took a 1-0 lead in the 43rd minute on freshman Emily Fischer's third goal of the season. Fischer ended the the outing with two shots.
  • Muskie junior Miranda Bishop extended the lead to 2-0 with her first goal of the season in the 50th minute. The tally was assisted by freshman Autumn Devine.
  • Heidelberg trimmed its deficit to 2-1 on Erica Campbell's goal in the 52nd minute.
  • Muskingum senior Morgan Price completed the Muskie scoring in the 83rd minute on a header to the far post off of Rachael Waite's free kick from just outside the box.
  • Heidelberg's McKenzie Perry scored ended the scoring with a strike in the 89th minute.
  • Muskingum ended the outing with 13 shots. Price and Bishop led the attack with three shots each.
  • Heidelberg mustered 19 shots, with Denise Bowes leading the way with five.

Between the Pipes

  • Senior Liz Mitchell played all 90 minutes in frame and allowed two goals and made five saves.
  • Bri Casement allowed three goals and made two saves in 90 minutes of action.
