Muskies celebrate Senior Night

The Muskingum women's soccer team hosted John Carroll for Senior Night on Saturday in McConagha Stadium. The Muskies tied the Blue Streaks in double overtime, 1-1.

Prior to the game, Muskingum honored seniors Melissa Emmerich, Carissa Myler, and Moriah Mathies. All three seniors are four-year members of the women's soccer program.

John Carroll struck in the 43rd minute on a shot by Kristen Kertis. The tally was setup by an assist from Andrea Regrut.

The Muskies tied up the match in the 49th minute with a goal by Mathies, which was aided by freshman Miranda Bishop's assist.

Muskingum had a chance to win the game in overtime - but a spectacular tip save by John Carroll's Hailey McDonald kept junior Summer Setliff's top of the box blast to the upper 90 from finding the back of the net.

Muskingum ended the outing with 23 shots. Mathies, junior Hailey Dickey, and sophomore Morgan Price all added six shots.

Emmerich played all 110 minutes between the pipes and made 13 saves.

John Carroll was paced by Kaylin Akerly who had eight shots. The Blue Streaks ended with 38 shots.

Hailey McDonald played the entire time in the goal and made eight saves.

Muskingum ends their season 9-7-2 overall, 2-6-1 in the OAC.
