The Ohio Athletic Conference honored Muskingum junior Tanner Walker for his outstanding performances on the mat last week by naming him the OAC Wrestler of the Week.
Walker ended the week with a perfect 4-0 record in the 165-pound class. He led the Muskies against nationally-ranked Mount Union with an impressive 6-4 OT win against the 10th-ranked wrestler in Division III, Jesse Gross. Walker then paced the Muskies at the Thiel Duals with a 3-0 record. He notched a 9-5 decision against Bobby Kelly of Lourdes and then received a forfeit win against Mercyhurst Northeast. Walker completed the competition with a fall against Cam Cianci of Thiel at the 59-second mark.
Muskingum next hosts Heidelberg on Tuesday, January 23. Match time is slated for 7:30 p.m.
