Raugh and Richards lead Muskingum

Senior Jon Raugh and sophomore Colton Richard led the Muskingum wrestling team in its home opener against Waynesburg on Thursday night in the Recreation Center. However, Waynesburg left New Concord with a 39-9 win.

How It Happened

  • Senior Jon Raugh secured a hard-fought 6-4 decision against D.J. Grindle in their 149-pound bout. The victory gave the Muskies their first points in the match.
  • Sophomore Colton Richard overpowered Joshua Sneeringer in their 197-pound match and recorded a fall at the 6:27 mark. The win was the fourth of the season for Richard and the fall was his second. 
  • Freshman Toby Warrington slipped in an extra-time battle against Gordon Bieber in the 133-pound weight class, 6-5.
  • Freshman Tanner Walker also suffered a tough 5-2 late setback against Mike Millero in the 174-pound weight class.
