Women’s Lacrosse swats Yellow Jackets

The Muskingum women's lacrosse team swatted the Yellow Jackets on Wednesday to earn their second straight victory, 17-3. 

The Basics

  • Records: Muskingum (3-3 overall), Waynesburg (1-1 overall)

Inside the Numbers

  • Senior Dani Crisp and sophomore Carly Spitz registered four goals each. 
  • Sophomores Jacie Clifton and Raiyah Johnson chipped in three goals apiece. 
  • Sophomore McKenzie Fuller grabbed a team-high 11 draw controls. 
  • Johnson and Fuller also secured five ground balls each. 
  • Crisp, Fuller, and Johnson caused one turnover each. 
  • Sophomore Shelby O'Donnell played the entire 60 minutes in goal for the Muskies. O'Donnell locked in four saves, tallying 57.1 save percentage. 
  • Katie Trombetta led the Yellow Jackets with two goals. 
  • Kayla Bochter secured a game-high 15 saves in between the pipes for Waynesburg. 
  • Muskingum notched a 43-7 advantage in shots and an 18-4 edge in draw controls. 

How it Happened

  • Muskingum grabbed five straight goals within the first seven minutes of play. 
  • The Muskies continued to dominate, using a 23-3 advantage in shots to extend the gap to 9-1 at the half. 
  • Muskingum rode the momentum in the second half with an 8-2 advantage in shots en route to a ferocious 17-3 triumph.
