Women's Lacrosse drops overtime thriller against Hiram
The Muskingum women's lacrosse team dropped an overtime thriller against Hiram on Saturday, 9-8. The Muskies played their annual One Love Game to bring awareness and raise money for the One Love Foundation.

  • Freshman Carly Spitz tied the record for assists in a game with three. Spitz now shares the record with Hannah Bailey who notched three assists against Waynesburg University in 2019 and Emily Hoffman who tallied three assists versus Heidelberg University in 2017.

  • Spitz guided the Muskies with a team-best four goals and three assists.
  • Sophomore Hannah Bailey added two goals. 
  • Senior Amber Swartwood and junior Dani Crisp chipped in one goal each. 
  • Senior Breanna Bailey picked up five ground balls. 
  • Freshman McKenzie Fuller registered a team-high 10 draw controls and grabbed six ground balls. 
  • Muskingum ended the outing with a 26-23 advantage in shots. 
  • Sophomore Cieanna Jones played all 60-plus minutes in frame and matched a career-best 11 saves. 
  • Katelyn Slomovitz led the Terriers with three goals.
  • Gillian McMaster played the entire contest in goal and registered eight saves.
  • In the first half the Muskies and Terriers traded goals with neither team gaining more than a two-point lead early on. 
  • Hiram registered back-to-back goals to give them a 6-4 advantage at the break.
  • The Terriers opened up scoring in the second half with a goal at the 27:54 marker, expanding the lead 7-4.
  • The Muskies answered back with two consecutive goals to trim the deficit 7-6.
  • Hiram managed to gain an 8-7 lead over the Muskies with 7:23 remaining on the clock.
  • Spitz netted a goal to tie the score 8-8 at the end of regulation. 
  • Alexi Hirsch secured the game-winning goal off of a free position shot in the 61st minute to secure the 9-8 overtime victory for the Terriers. 

  • Muskingum next travels to Greenville, Pennsylvania to battle the Thiel College Tomcats on Wednesday, March 20. Start time is slated for 7:00 p.m.
