Otterbein tops Women’s Lacrosse

The Muskingum women's lacrosse team fell, 18-4, against Ohio Athletic Conference foe Otterbein on a cold, windy, and lightly snowy Wednesday night at the North Athletic Turf Field.

Game Highlights

  • Otterbein netted two goals in the first six minutes of the contest to take an early lead. Two minutes later, Courtney Hines scored the Muskies first goal. Otterbein then went on to outscore Muskingum 8-2 to close off the first half with a 10-3 advantage. Muskingum started the second half with a goal by Sydni Uhrig three minutes into the frame. However, the Cardinals maintained control as they scored eight straight goals to seal the Ohio Athletic Conference victory.  

Inside the Numbers

  • Ashley Adams registered one goal, one assist, four ground balls, and finished with a team-high three caused turnovers for the Muskies.
  • Sydni Uhrig, Dani Crisp, and Courtney Hines each collected one goal, while Uhrig added one assist.
  • Hannah Bailey finished with a team-high five ground balls.
  • Kate Shamel, Breanna Bailey, and Courtney Nestoff also notched two ground balls each.
  • Shamel played 54 minutes in goal and registered 10 saves, while Cieanna Jones saw action in the final six minutes, and made one save.
  • Abby Smoot and Cameron Finnegan led Otterbein with six goals each.
  • Otterbein ended the game with 39 shots and 18 goals.
  • Allison Rhoads and Tasha Williams each played 30 minutes in the frame. Rhoads made two saves, while Williams made three saves.
