Women's lacrosse celebrates Senior Day

The Muskingum women's lacrosse team celebrated Senior Day on Friday against John Carroll. Prior to the game, the Muskies recognized seniors Courtney Cole, Julie Kelley and Rise Lee Hosoi.

John Carroll took control in the first half by scoring the first eight goals of the game over the opening nine minutes of play. The Blue Streaks took a 14-3 lead into the break.

The Muskies were led by junior Ashley Adams who tied the school record for goals in a game with six. Junior Sydni Uhrig also scored one goal and junior Katie Megery added one assist. Muskingum ended the game with 11 shots.

Junior keeper Kate Shamel played all 60 minutes in frame and made 15 saves.

Gina Vilsack led John Carroll with five goals and three assists, while Grace Curatolo registered three goals and seven assists. The Blue Streaks peppered 44 shots on the day.

Muskingum next plays at Mount Union on Saturday, April 22. Game time is slated for 4:00 p.m.
