The Muskingum women's basketball team lost against the 20th-ranked Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets in its Ohio Athletic Conference opener on Saturday, 89-49.

- Before the start of the game, Muskingum held a moment of silence for the 30th anniversary of the 1989-90 women's basketball tragic van accident. Monday, November 18, marked 30 years since Michelle Simpson, 18, of Bristolville, Ohio, a freshman forward-center, and Mary Ann Smith, 20, of Coshocton, Ohio, a sophomore student assistant, passed away in the heartbreaking van accident on the way to a tournament at Frostburg State University.

- Junior Sam Filiaggi guided the Muskies with a team-best 17 points, shooting 6-of-13 (46.1%) from the field.
- Freshman Rileigh Simpson registered a team-high eight rebounds and grabbed two steals.
- Freshman Emily Hartshorn recorded three steals.

Game Highlights
In the first quarter, the Yellow Jackets came out hot and built a quick 11-4 lead. Baldwin Wallace rode the momentum to a 21-7 advantage at the end of the opening frame. The Yellow Jackets continued to swarm in the second quarter en route to taking a 52-14 lead into the break.
