Game Highlights
In the first quarter, the Muskies and Tomcats battled neck and neck with neither team claiming more than a three-point lead early on. Thiel registered back-to-back points to slide past Muskingum with a score of 12-7. The Tomcats came out hot in the second quarter and tallied seven straight points to expand the lead to 21-14. The Muskies retaliated with seven consecutive points to tie up play to 21-21. The contest remained tight, and Smith connected a free throw to give the Muskies a three-point edge (28-25) going into the half.
In the third quarter, Muskingum and Thiel traded baskets with neither team gaining more than a three-point lead. Smith made a layup with 4:25 remaining on the clock to advance past the Tomcats with a score of 40-33. Thiel chipped away at the differential, but the Muskie momentum could not be halted. Lang drained a three-pointer to expand the lead to 50-39 at the 2:44 juncture. Muskingum took control of the game in the fourth quarter with a 19-12 run en route to the dominating 81-57 victory.
