Women’s Basketball set to represent Muskingum at NCAA Division I Final Four & NCAA Inclusion Forum

The Muskingum women's basketball team will be representing the University on a national level this week as they are set to help at the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Final Four in Columbus. In addition, Head Coach Beth Fox and senior Schyler Fennimore have the honor to attend the NCAA Inclusion Forum Regional Student-Athlete Engagement Program in April.

At the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Final Four, seven of the Muskingum women's basketball players will be on-court demonstrators as part of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Convention in Columbus. On Friday and Saturday, some of the top college and professional coaches will use our players to help demonstrate how to run practice drills, shooting drills, offenses, and defenses. Some of the coaches scheduled to run on-court presentations are Katie Smith (New York Liberty), Lindsay Gottlieb (University of California), Adrian Walters (Auburn University), Kelly Graves (University of Oregon), and Kim Barnes (University of Michigan). Muskingum is one of the few local institutions that have players being on-court demonstrators.

In April, Coach Fox and Schyler Fennimore will be a part of the NCAA Inclusion Forum Regional Student-Athlete Engagement Program. In order to attend this Forum, ten students and advisors were selected from each division. This program was started as a way to bring together higher education and intercollegiate athletic leaders and student-athletes to help improve the environment for student-athletes, coaches, and staff. During the Inclusion Forum sessions, they will be talking about a wide range of topics such as race/ethnicity, women/gender equity, etc. This Forum will be taking place in Indianapolis, Indiana from April 14-16.
