The Ohio Athletic Conference has named Muskingum women's basketball senior Olivia Besancon Second Team All-OAC.

Besancon, who started all 25 games, finished the regular season ranked first in the conference in free throw percentage (.908) and second in points per game (17.0). She also grabbed 131 rebounds, 39 assists, and 21 steals.

Earlier this season, she became the 21st Muskingum women's basketball player to reach 1,000 career points after collecting seven at Mount Union. She also broke the school record for the best free throw percentage in a season (.908) and career (.872) for the Muskies. The previous record was .892 (season) and .824 (career) set by Jessica Gates during the 2002-03 and 1999-03 seasons, respectively. In addition, she tied the school record for most free throws attempted in a game (14) and most free throws made in a game (12) at Wooster. The current record holders are Jessica McKenzie and Julie Hoag who both attempted 14 free throws at John Carroll (2006-07) and Heidelberg (1988-89), respectively, while Jessica Gates made 12 free throws against Marietta (2001-02).

Besancon ended her college career with 1,158 points, which ranks her 13th overall in scoring in Muskingum history, 351 rebounds, 181 three-pointers, 155 assists, and 89 steals.

This season, she posted a season/career-high 36 points and nine rebounds in Muskingum's thrilling triple-overtime win against John Carroll on December 2, 2017.
