The Muskingum softball team split their home doubleheader against Otterbein on Saturday afternoon winning Game 1, 9-7, while falling in Game 2, 5-1.

Inside The Numbers - Game 1
- Junior Hannah Smith started in the circle for the Muskies and pitched in all seven innings earning three strikeouts while allowing four runs off eight hits.
- Senior Riley Powers led the Muskie offense with two hits and three RBIs.
- Senior Shaena Mayer and junior Haley Hawk each added two hits and one RBI for Muskingum.
- Senior Karsyn Shaffer chipped in one hit and one RBI.
- Maria Herron led Otterbein with two hits, three RBIs, and grabbed one home run.
- Jess Gunter started on the mound for the Cardinals and pitched 2.2 innings allowing nine runs.
The Difference - Game 1
- Otterbein started off the scoring with a two-run home run from Maria Herron to go up, 2-0.
- Heading into the bottom of the second inning down 2-1, the Muskies used a 6-0 surge to take a 7-2 lead.
- Muskingum added two more run in the fourth inning off a two RBI single from Powers to make it 9-2.
- The Cardinals used a seventh inning five run surge to make it 9-7, but Muskingum held the run to secure the win.
Inside The Numbers - Game 2
- Senior Hannah Duff pitched the first 5.2 innings for the Muskies allowing five runs off seven hits and tallied three strikeouts.
- Powers led the Muskies with three hits and one RBI.
- Senior Francesca Stefano and Mayer added two hits each for Muskingum.
- Senior Bailey Waitkus and Hawk each chipped in one hit in the contest.
- Herron and Isabelle Fisher led the Cardinals with two RBIs each.
- Brook Crosby pitched a complete game allowing one run off nine hits and earned one strikeout.
The Difference - Game 2
- Otterbein scored the first runs of the game in the third inning off a two RBI double from Herron to make it, 2-0.
- The Muskies pulled within one off an RBI single from Powers making it, 2-1.
- The Cardinals rallied off three more runs later in the game to secure the victory, 5-1.
