Softball honored with Easton/NFCA Scholar-Athlete accolades

The championship Muskingum softball team was honored by the National Fastpitch Coaching Association by having 15 players recognized with Easton/NFCA Scholar-Athlete accolades. To be recognized, student-athletes must have a 3.5 cumulative GPA for the academic year.

Muskingum's season was highlighted by winning the Ohio Athletic Regular Season Championship and hosting rights to the OAC Tournament. It marked the first time since 2008 that Muskingum hosted the tournament. The Muskies ended the year with an impressive 31-11 overall record and 15-3 mark in the OAC. Muskingum's stellar play was recognized on the national level by receiving votes in the NFCA Top 25 Poll for seven weeks, including being ranked as high as 25th.
