Smith named OAC Softball Pitcher of the Week

Muskingum freshman pitcher Hannah Smith was named OAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for her spectacular play on Saturday vs. Ohio Northern. Smith led the Muskies to an Ohio Athletic Conference sweep against the Polar Bears (6-4, 8-0) and helped clinch the OAC Regular Season Championship and secure the top-seed and hosting rights for the OAC Softball Tournament. 

Smith posted a perfect 2-0 record from the circle after seeing action in 10.0 innings, allowing just one runs on eight hits, with two strikeouts. Smith ended the week with an 0.00 ERA.

In game one, Smith earned the victory for the Muskies after tossing four relief innings and allowing just one run on five hits, with two strikeouts. In game two, Smith registered her 13th victory in the circle for the Muskies and recorded her first career shutout. Smith held the Polar Bears to just three hits, all of which were singles.

The Muskies next host the Otterbein University Cardinals on Friday, May 3 for game two of the Ohio Athletic Conference Softball Tournament. Start time is slated for 12:00 p.m.
