Softball receives votes in NFCA Top 25 Poll

For the second straight week, the Muskingum softball team received votes in the NFCA Division III Top 25 Poll.

The Muskies, who have a 16-2 record, received four votes. This season, Muskingum has outscored its opponents 125-55 and sport a .365 team batting average and 2.70 team ERA.

Leading the charge at the plate are junior Krissy Hughes and freshman Karsyn Shaffer. Hughes is batting .571 with 23 runs, 19 RBIs, nine doubles, four triples and two home runs. She carries a .937 slugging percentage and .609 on-base percentage. Shaffer is hitting .522 with 22 runs, eight RBIs, two doubles and one triple. Also aiding the Muskie offensive prowess are freshman Jaelyn Meade (.434 BA), junior Rachel Eberling (.361 BA) and senior Haylea Debolt (.355 BA).

In the pitching circle, freshman Hannah Duff leads the rotation with a 1.39 ERA in 45.1 innings of work. She has an 8-1 record and is holding hitters to a .236 batting average. Debolt (3.15 ERA), Eberling (3.48 ERA) and freshman Gabrielle McNeil (3.89 ERA) round out the strong staff.
