Muskingum junior Chris Lardie finished second in the triple jump to earn All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors at the OAC Championships hosted by Marietta on Friday-Saturday.
The Basics
- Location: Marietta, Ohio – Marietta College
- Results: Muskingum scored 30 points to finish ninth in the 10-team field.
In The Field
- Lardie led the Muskies with his second-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 43-4.50. The top three finishers in each event earn All-OAC honors.
- Senior Dominic Bell placed fifth in the pole vault with a leap of 14-1.75.
- Sophomore Jeff Burkholder took fifth in the shot put with a heave of 48-2.
- Freshman Darren McCaughan placed sixth in the long jump with a mark of 21-5.50.
On The Track
- Sophomore Darrell Briggs took fifth in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.06.
- Senior Marty Vajen finished fifth in the 500-meter run with a time of 1:08.58.
- The Muskie 4x200 relay team of McCaughan, freshman Casey Phillips, senior Desmond Waden and sophomore Fred Stinson finished seventh with a time of 1:36.16.
- The Muskie 4x400 relay team of Stinson, Vajen, Phillips and Briggs placed eighth with a time of 3:45.17.
