Men's Tennis drops a hard-fought battle to Cornerstone

The Muskingum men's tennis team dropped a hard-fought battle to Cornerstone on Saturday, 6-3.

Cornerstone secured first doubles to jump out to an early 1-0 lead over the Muskies. Muskingum retaliated with a victory in second singles to tie up play to 1-1. The Eagles secured third doubles via forfeit to give them a one-point edge (2-1) heading into singles. Cornerstone locked in four-of-six singles to secure the 6-3 triumph. 

The doubles pair of freshmen Joshua Brown and Chris Veney secured an 8-7, 7-5 triumph over David Kerkstra and Matthew Wilde in second doubles. Freshman Paul Lambo locked in a 7-6, 6-2 victory over Blaise Eisele in second singles. Senior Seth Miles notched a 6-2, 6-0 win over Collin Malek in fifth singles. 

The Muskies next battle Shawnee State on Saturday, October 5. Start time is slated for 12:00 p.m.
