Men's tennis splits matches against ONU and Heidelberg

The Muskingum men's tennis team fell against Ohio Northern and beat Heidelberg on Saturday at the Linder Family Tennis Center.

In the opening match of the day, Ohio Northern beat Muskingum 9-0. 

The Muskies rebounded in their second match with a 6-3 win against the Student Princes. Muskingum took the early edge with wins at second and third doubles. Freshman Brenton Franks and junior Micah Keith secured an 8-1 win at second doubles and the Muskies grabbed a forfeit win at third doubles.

Senior Levi Hall, Franks, and Keith all registered wins in singles action to help propel Muskingum to the win. Hall won at third singles in three sets (6-3, 3-6, 10-6), while Franks won 6-2, 6-3 at fourth singles and Keith claimed a 6-0, 6-0 victory at fifth singles. Muskingum also took a forfeit win at sixth singles.

Muskingum next plays at rival Marietta on Wednesday, April 25. Match time is slated for 4:30 p.m.
