Men's tennis wins thriller at Bethany

The Muskingum men's tennis team won a thriller on Thursday afternoon against Bethany, 5-4.

With the match tied 4-4, junior Caleb Patton delivered the Muskie triumph with a 6-4, 6-0 victory at sixth singles against Tyler Beck. Patton also teamed with junior Gordie German to secure an 8-6 win against Joseph Fiasco and Beck at third doubles.

The freshmen tandem of Brenton Franks and Yozabro Igari won 8-3 against Danny Booth and Darren Johnson at second doubles. Franks also registered a 6-0, 6-1 win at fourth singles against Fiasco. 

Junior Micah Keith rounded out the strong day on the courts for the Muskies with a 6-0, 6-0 win against Johnson at fifth singles.

Muskingum next travels to John Carroll on Friday, April 13. Match time is slated for 2:00 p.m. and will be played at Ursuline College.
