Men's Soccer celebrates Homecoming against #8 Kenyon

The Muskingum Men's Soccer team celebrated its 100th homecoming against eighth-ranked Kenyon on Saturday afternoon. However, the Muskies were setback by the Owls due to a deficit of 7-0.

The Basics

  • Records: Muskingum (1-4), Kenyon (6-0)
  • Location: North Athletic Turf Field

How it Happened

  • The Owls got the scoring early in the first half jumping out to a quick 1-0 lead.
  • Kenyon went on to score three more in the first half and rattle off another three goals in the second half to make the final score, 7-0. 

Inside the Numbers

  • Senior Edwin Palou led the Muskie attack finishing with six shots.
  • Junior Mahfuz Yakubu added two shots, while Freshman Colton Cunningham and Freshman Fady Makram added one shot apiece to round out the Muskingum offensive effort. 
  • Freshman goalkeeper Evan Laraba played 45 minutes in goal for  Muskingum and registered five saves.
  • Freshman goalkeeper Caden Groff played 45 minutes between the pipes for the Muskies and tallied three saves.
  • Alem Duratovic led the Owl offense with two goals. 
  • Kenyon ended the night outshooting the Muskies, 32-10.

The Muskies are back in action at the North Athletic Turf Field on Wednesday, September 21, when they host St. Francis (Ind.). Game time is set for 7PM.
