Men's Soccer lose close battle with Capital

The Muskingum men's soccer team fell in a close battle against Capital in OAC play, losing to the Crusaders on Wednesday night 3-1.

The Breakdown

  • The Muskies got the scoring started in the first half off a goal from junior Jordan Work off an assist from sophomore Ryan Peck in the 14th minute to make the score, 1-0.
  • Capital tied things up in the 30th minute off a goal from Nich Scharfenberger from an assist by Mitch Hughes to make the score 1-1 heading into halftime.
  • The Crusaders would two goals in the second half from Nich Scharfenberger and Tyler Wujczyk to make the final score, 3-1.
  • Leading the Muskie attack was Work with two shots and one goal.
  • Peck added two shots and an assist for Muskingum.
  • Sophomore Bailey Adams and senior Adam Fox each added a shot for the Muskie offense.
  • Junior Damon Spaeth played all 90 minutes in frame for the Muskies and made 12 saves on the night.
