Men's Soccer, Bearcats draw after weather delay

The Muskingum men's soccer team finished in a 2-2 draw with St. Vincent after an hour weather delay on Saturday night.

The Breakdown

  • Less than ten minutes into the game a weather delay was issued due to lightning in the area, the match was delayed for over an hour.
  • After the delay, the Bearcats scored first in the first half off a goal from Callum Babbs from an assist from Cris White in the 20th minute making the score, 1-0.
  • St. Vincent then took a two-goal lead after Callum Babbs got his second of the night from an assist from Brandon Lowe in the 23rd minute, making it 2-0.
  • The Muskies got on the scoreboard a little over a minute later off a headed goal from senior Adam Fox off an assist from fellow senior Drew Wise in the 24th minute making it a one score game, 2-1.
  • Muskingum tied the game up in the 61st minute off a fantastic goal from sophomore Jeremiah Kusi from just outside the penalty box making the score, 2-2.
  • The game then ended in regulation tied 2-2, and after no goals were scored in the two overtimes the game ended in a 2-2 draw.
  • Leading the Muskie attack was sophomore Omar Lahbiki with four total shots.
  • Senior Chase Michael Hillard and freshman Nishan Pokwal each added two shots with one on goal.
  • Junior Jordan Work also added two shots for the Muskies.
  • Both Fox and Kusi had one shot and one goal for the Muskie offense.
  • Junior Damon Spaeth played all 90 minutes in frame for the Muskies and made two saves on the night.
  • Leading the Bearcat offense was Callum Babbs with two shots and two goals.
  • Eduardo Richa and Cris White each added two shots for St. Vincent.
  • Bearcat goalkeeper Zachary Gibbons made four saves in goal.
  • The Muskies ended the game outshooting the Bearcats, 18-10.
