Muskingum junior Trent Newby registered his first career hat trick to help lead the Muskies to an impressive 6-2 win against Franciscan at Bethany on Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
- Muskingum junior Trent Newby led the way with his first career hat trick. His first strike of the contest came in the 33rd minute off a free kick from senior William Debolt. Newby completed the three-goal outburst with blows in the 46th minute and the 57th minute. The hat trick was the first for the Muskies since 2013.
- Senior Zach Schmauch found senior Nick Koch in the 42nd minute to push the Muskie lead to 2-0.
- In the 69th minute, Schmauch added an insurance goal recording his second goal of the season.
- Senior Gage Toy scored the final goal of the contest in the 82nd minute.
- The Muskies finished with nine shots, eight on frame.
- The Bisons were led by Leo Herrmann and Joseph Duran with one goal each.
- Franciscan fired off a game-high 16 shots.
Between the Pipes
- Junior Josh Routte got the start for the Muskies logging 90 minutes in frame with three saves. The junior surrendered two goals.
- For Franciscan, Thomas Dosedel played 90 minutes in frame with two saves.
