Men's Soccer remains perfect at home

The Muskingum men's soccer team remained perfect at home as they blanked Waynesburg 2-0 Wednesday afternoon at Muskie Field.

How It Happened

  • Muskingum junior Trent Newby displayed a dominate performance netting two goals in the contest. Newby's first strike came in the 21st minute as he played a through ball from junior Chris Aboagye that beat the Yellow Jacket backline. 
  • In the 56th minute, the Muskies would add an insurance goal as sophomore Alex Furst connected with Newby on a header just out of the reach of the Waynesburg netminder.
  • Newby finished with four shots in the contest.
  • Freshman John Soppanish aided the attack with three shots on frame.
  • Muskingum ended the outing with 14 shots.
  • Nate Kummer led the way for Waynesburg with three shots, one on frame.
  • Waynesburg held a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.

Between the Pipes

  • Sophomore Colin Federer secured the shutout win making two saves through 90 minutes of work in frame.
  • James Snyder played all 90 minutes making three saves for the Yellow Jackets.
