Men's soccer suffers road setback

The Muskingum men's soccer team suffered a 3-1 loss in its final road game of the season at Wilmington on Wednesday night.

The Matchup

  • Records: Muskingum (4-13 overall, 1-7 OAC), Wilmington (5-13 overall, 2-6 OAC)
  • Location: Wilmington, Ohio - at Williams Stadium

The Game

  • Wilmington scored its first two goals on penalty kicks by Niklas Martennson in the 25th and 47th minutes.
  • The Quakers completed its scoring in the 50th minute on a corner kick.
  • The Muskies' tally came in the 69th minute from freshman Gage Toy. The score was the second of the season for Toy, who ended the night with a team-best three shots.
  • Junior William Debolt added two shots for the Muskies and junior Zach Schmauch had one strike.
  • Wilmington held a 5-3 edge in corner kicks.

In the Net

  • Freshman Daniel Jennings played the entire game in frame and made seven saves and allowed three goals.
  • Nick Latessa made one save en route to garnering the win.
