Men's soccer falls at Marietta

The Muskingum men's soccer team fell 3-0 at Ohio Athletic Conference rival Marietta on Wednesday afternoon.

The Matchup

The Game

  • Marietta grabbed the lead late in the first half on a header by Ray Rott in the 43rd minute. The score was assisted by Zach Johnson and Taylor Reasoner.
  • The Pioneers extended their margin to 2-0 in the 52nd minute on a tally by Reasoner. Johnson had the assist.
  • Marietta completed the scoring in the 88th minute on a strike by Andy Rolfes.
  • Marietta ended the game with a 27-8 advantage in shots and 10-4 edge in corner kicks.
  • Muskingum was led by junior Zach Schmauch who registered two shots.
  • Senior Logan Lazar, junior William Debolt, freshman Gage Toy, freshman Barrett Fitzgerald, freshman Chase Michael Hilliard and freshman Mitchell Corey all logged one shot.

In the Net

  • Freshman Daniel Jennings played all 90 minutes in frame and allowed three goals and made six saves.
  • Tyler Sholl made four saves to secure the shutout.
