Men's soccer slips on Senior Night

The Muskingum men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 contest on Senior Night against Wilmington on a wet Tuesday night in McConagha Stadium.

The game marked the final home contest for Muskingum seniors Austin Mills, Eric Riley and Brock Yackey. All three were recognized prior to the start of the game.

Wilmington (8-7-3, 3-3-2) used a two-goal surge over an 11-second span in the second half to take control of the contest.

Joel Yosef scored in the 65th minute off of Nils Asterberg's assist to give Wilmington a 2-0 lead.

Yosef then stole a back pass off the kickoff and scored again just 11 seconds after his first tally.

Wilmington's first goal came in the 33rd minute on a Muskingum own goal off of a Quaker corner kick.

The Quakers ended the night with a 19-6 advantage in shots and 6-4 edge in corner kicks.

Riley played all 90 minutes in frame and made five saves and allowed three goals.

R.J. Mancini garnered the shutout after making two saves.

Muskingum (5-13, 1-7) was led by junior Brett Hanna and freshman Trent Newby led the Muskies with three shots each. Sophomore Tyler Craft added two strikes.

The Muskies conclude its season on Saturday, November 1 at John Carroll. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m.
