The Muskingum men's lacrosse team ended its season with a 16-9 loss at Ohio Athletic Conference foe Wilmington on Saturday.

Milestones

• Senior Ohlen Rudy is now the record holder for most ground balls in a season with 98 and holds the career record in ground balls with 214. The previous record was set by teammate Tucker Haas in 2017 with 80 ground balls in a season. Rudy also shattered the record for most caused turnovers in a season with 54 and most caused turnovers in a career with 109. He broke his previous season record of 23 set in 2017.
• Senior Zach Kern is now the all-time career leader in points (82) and assists (22).

Game Highlights

Wilmington scored the first three goals in the opening minutes of the first quarter to take a 3-0 lead. At the 7:59 marker, junior Ryan Stacey collected the first goal for the Muskies. Shortly thereafter, the Quakers scored their fourth goal. With 2:38 on the clock, Stacey notched another goal to get within two. Wilmington closed the first quarter by netting two more goals, while Kern added a goal for Muskingum to make it 6-3. Wilmington posted four goals in the second quarter to lead 10-3 at the half.

The Muskies outscored the Quakers 4-3 in the third quarter, but Wilmington held on to the 13-7 advantage. Wilmington accumulated four straight goals in the fourth quarter, while Muskingum accrued two straight goals to conclude the contest in a loss.

Inside the Numbers

• Muskingum ended the outing with 38 shots and nine goals.
• Stacey led the attack with five goals and one assist.
• Kern rounded out the Muskie scoring with four goals. He also added three ground balls.
• Senior Ohlen Rudy picked up a team-high nine ground balls and five caused turnovers.
• Freshman Thomas McCauley grabbed four ground balls and four caused turnovers.
• Junior Dylan Gambill and sophomore's Jace Morris and Nick Klinefelter each collected three ground balls.
• Senior goalie LaJohn Ellies played all 60 minutes in the frame and made 18 saves. 
• Wilmington ended the game with 66 shots and 16 goals.
• Jhordan Lang led Wilmington with seven goals and three assists.
• Jake Ladendorf made 11 saves in 60 minutes of action.
