Slow start haunts Muskingum

Mount Union jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the opening quarter en route to handing Muskingum a 13-6 setback in Ohio Athletic Conference play on Saturday afternoon.

The Muskies scored six goals on 28 shots and were led by Tucker Haas who netted three goals and recorded one assist. Zach Kern, Ian McGougan and Ryan Stacey all added one goal. 

Phillip Dappen played all 60 minutes in goal and made nine saves.

Chris Daley led Mount Union with five goals and three assists, while Brent Greenberg three goals and four assists. The Purple Raiders ended the outing with 45 shots.

Jake Krone played the opening 30 minutes in frame and made five saves and allowed one goal.

Muskingum next plays at Franciscan on Wednesday, April 26. Game time is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
