Franks wins medalist honors at John Carroll Invite

Muskingum junior Brenton Franks won medalist honors at the 27-hole John Carroll Invite held at River Greens Golf Course on Saturday.

The Basics

  • The invitational took place at the River Greens Golf Course and consisted of 27 holes.
  • As a team, the Muskies shot a total team score of 475 to finish fourth.

On The Course

  • Junior Brenton Franks led the Muskies finishing in first place with a score of 109 (72-37) to claim medalist honors in the 32-golfer field. He ended the day shooting one-over-par.
  • Senior Thomas Green finished tied for 11th with a score of 118 (81-37).
  • Freshman Chase Karling finished tied for 17th with a score of 120 (80-40).
  • Freshman Jonah Hanes finished 25th with a score of 128 (86-42).
  • Freshman Jack Williams finished 26th with a score of 129 (87-42).
  • Freshman Lucas Huston finished tied for 27th with a score of 130 (84-36).
  • Junior Preston Yeater finished 30th with a score of 132 (84-38).
  • Junior Matthew Shumar finished 32nd with a score of 137 (93-44). 
  • Baldwin Wallace won the team title with a score of 451.

What's Next

  • The Muskingum men's golf team next competes at another John Carroll Invite on Monday, September 16. The event is set to take place at the Shaker Country Club.
