Franks earns All-OAC honors to lead men's golf at OAC Championships

Muskingum sophomore Brenton Franks finished tied for sixth in the 45-golfer field to earn All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors and lead the men's golf team at the OAC Championships. The event was held at River Greens Golf Course in West Lafayette, Ohio, May 3-5.

Franks carded a 72-hole total 297 (72-78-74-73) which included a career-low round of 72 to open the tournament. Over the course of the three-day event, Franks logged nine birdies and 46 pars and ranked second in par-4 scoring.

Senior Gordie German finished tied for 25th with a 310 (79-80-77-74). German ended the championship ranked 11th in par-5 scoring at one-under. He also tied for the tournament high with one eagle and had 43 pars.

Junior Thomas Green placed 36th with a 313 (75-78-83-77). Green registered 44 pars throughout the course of play.

Senior Josh Blaustein tied for 37th with a 315 (79-72-82-82). Blaustein ranked second in birdies with 10.

Senior Christian Taylor rounded out the Muskie scoring with a 322 (80-78-84-80) to finish 44th.

As a team, Muskingum logged a 1,231 (305-306-316-304) to place seventh in the nine-team field. Otterbein won the team title with a 1,162 (284-293-299-286). Sam Marty from Otterbein won medalist honors with a 287 (69-71-74-73).
