The Muskingum men's golf team opened its 2017-18 season with an eighth-place finish during the Sunday-Monday event at the Ohio Athletic Conference Fall Invitational at the Pine Hills Golf Club.
The Basics
- Pine Hills Golf Club is located in Hinckley, Ohio.
- As a team, Muskingum shot 624 (316-308) during the two-day event.
- It was a par 72 course and 6,748 yards long.
On the Course
- Senior Jacob Van Leeuwen tied for sixth-place in the 63-player field with a 148 (76-72).
- Junior Josh Blaustein tied for 23rd place, shooting 155 (78-77).
- Sophomore Thomas Green tied 34th place with a 160 (83-77).
- Junior Gordie German shot a 161 (79-82) to finish tied for 36th.
- Junior Derek Crum rounded out the Muskie scoring with a 173 (86-87).
- Freshman Matthew Shumar played as an individual and carded a 167 (80-87) to finish tied for 49th.
- Otterbein captured first place after scoring a combined team total of 587 (289-298).
- Austin Wells from Otterbein won medalist honors after shooting four-under-par with a 140 (67-73).
