Men’s Basketball Powers Through Capital with a Second Half Surge

On Wednesday night, the Muskingum men's basketball team hosted Capital for an Ohio Athletic Conference game, where the Muskies used a second half surge to secure the 90-79 win.

  • This is Muskingum's first win over Capital since 2022.
  • This win marked the best start in the OAC (4-1) since the 1989-90 season.

  • The Muskies shot 33-of-67 (49.3%) from the field, 6-of-21 (28.6%) from the three-point range, and 18-of-29 (62.1%) from the free throw line.
  • The Muskies recorded 39 rebounds, 19 assists, 50 points in the paint, 14 steals, and the bench scored 34 points.
  • Sophomore Owen Emig led the Muskies with 22 points as he went 4-for-8 from deep and a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line. He added two assists, two rebounds and two steals. Emig fueled the Muskie offense in the second half with 18 points.
  • Freshman Alieu Ceesay energized the offense with a career-high 21 points. Ceesay went 6-of-8 (75%) from the field and 9-of-12 (75%) from the charity stripe. He added seven rebounds, and two steals.
  • Junior Duane Davis helped power the Muskies with 21 points, as he shot 10-of-16 (62.5%) from the field. Davis added seven rebounds, five assists, and a steal.
  • Sophomore DJ Fowler tossed in seven more points, two rebounds, and a steal.
  • Senior Luken Hill and senior Zaveon Croff both solidified the Muskies defense with three steals. Hill added six rebounds, six assists, and five points. Croff posted five points, three rebounds, two assists, and a block.
  • Capital shot 28-of-64 (43.8%) from the field, 12-of-29 (41.4%) from three-point range, and 11-of-20 (55%) from the free throw line.
  • McKane Finkenbine led Capital with 19 points, six assist, and two rebounds.
