The Muskingum men's basketball team will visit Capital on Wednesday, January 24 for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off and will take on NCAA Division III #23 John Carroll in the Anne C. Steele Center on Saturday, January 27 at 2:00 p.m.

Closing In On 1K: After a 27-point performance at Baldwin Wallace on Saturday, sophomore Marcus Dempsey is only 63 points shy of becoming the 32nd Muskingum men's basketball player to score 1,000 career points.

  • Marcus Dempsey (28 points), Devon Peart (19 points), Rashay Douglas (14 points), and Jayson Peoples (12 points) all notched double-digit scoring to lift Muskingum to a 97-89 victory against Mount Union on Wednesday night. On Saturday evening, the Muskies were defeated, 99-70, at Baldwin Wallace. Dempsey led Muskingum with 27 points on 12-of-23 shooting, while adding four assists and three rebounds.
  • The Muskies are tied for fifth in the OAC standings with a 5-5 record.
  • Dempsey is ranked first in the conference and third in Division III in points per game (29.1). He is making 51.3% of his shots from the field (179-of-349) and 42.3% from the arc (52-of-123). Dempsey is also dishing out 2.6 assists per game.
