The Muskingum men's basketball team beat 22nd-ranked Baldwin Wallace, 91-78, to earn their second straight home and conference win of the season.

Game Highlights

Muskingum started the contest going on a 7-2 run during the first three minutes. Baldwin Wallace then held Muskingum scoreless during the next four minutes as the Yellow Jackets went on an 11-0 run to pull ahead, 15-7, with 13:56 remaining. 10 seconds later, Dempsey stopped the Yellow Jackets run after he collected a jumper. The Muskies then got back within five points, 21-16, at the 11:13 marker. However, over the course of the next several minutes, Baldwin Wallace pushed the tempo of the game in their favor as they scored 11 points to MU's three to hold the largest lead of the frame, 32-19, with 7:42 on the clock. Dempsey attacked the basket with back-to-back shots to get Muskingum back within five, 38-33 with 2:41 left. From the 1:39 marker, the two teams scored a combined 11 points, six for BW and five for MU, with the Yellow Jackets holding the 46-39 advantage at intermission. Dempsey carried the Muskie attack in the opening frame hitting 11-of-16 from the field for 26 points.

The Muskies turned their game around in the second half as they went on a 13-6 run to cut BW's lead down to three, 55-52, with 13:32 on the clock. Muskingum recorded their first tie of the game 30 seconds later when Rashay Douglas drilled a three-pointer. The Yellow Jackets then marched down the court to drill a three-pointer of their own to retake the lead. Jacob Geller produced a three-pointer, while Peart netted two made free throws to tie the contest again, 60-60, with 11:24 remaining. BW made a jump shot and a three-pointer to regain the 65-62 edge with 9:54 on the clock. That would be the last lead the Yellow Jackets had as the Muskies offense got into a scoring groove, scoring 10 straight points over the next four minutes. Muskingum continued to dominate the glass until the end as they scored 17 more points to secure the 91-78 victory over #22 Baldwin Wallace in front of a loud and energetic home crowd.
