Men's Basketball poised for Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament run

Muskingum enters the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament as the seven-seed after finishing the regular season 13-12 overall, 7-11 OAC and will play at two-seed John Carroll (17-7 overall, 14-4 OAC) on Tuesday, February 21. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. This marks Muskingum's first appearance in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament since the 2008-09 season.

The Muskies and Blue Streaks split the regular season series with Muskingum defeating John Carroll 99-95 to open conference play in New Concord. John Carroll closed out the series with an 84-69 victory in University Heights. 

Muskingum's 13-12 record is the best since the 2008-09 season when Muskingum advanced to the Semifinals of the OAC Tournament.

Entering the Tournament, senior Joshua Keyes leads the conference in rebounds (11.2 rpg), while sophomore Jarrell Marsh ranks third in scoring (17.9 ppg) followed by freshman Marcus Dempsey in fifth (16.6 ppg).

As a team, Muskingum is averaging 82.8 ppg shooting .471 from the field, including .364 from behind the arc.

John Carroll is led by David Linane Jr. averaging 16.3 ppg, ranking sixth among the OAC. Simon Kucharewicz leads the team in rebounds, ranking fourth in the conference averaging 8.4 rpg.

As a team, the Blue Streaks are averaging 87.0 ppg, shooting .479 from the floor and averaging 41.9 rpg.

With a win on Tuesday, Muskingum would advance to play the winner of three-seed Ohio Northern and six-seed Baldwin Wallace.
