Men's basketball races past Heidelberg

The Muskingum men's basketball team had four players in double-digits and used a total team effort en route to racing past Heidelberg in Ohio Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon in the Anne C. Steele Center, 101-94.

The Basics

  • Records: Muskingum (9-4 overall, 3-3 OAC), Heidelberg (6-7 overall, 2-4 OAC)

Game Notes

  • The win marked the Muskies ninth of the season. It's the most victories by a Muskingum squad since the 2008-09 campaign.
  • Muskingum senior Joshua Keyes logged his seventh double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
  • Muskingum sophomore Jarrell Marsh recorded his second double-double of the season with 25 points and 10 rebounds. He also added five assists.
  • Senior Rickey Wilson tied his career-high with a 22-point performance. Wilson hit 4-of-6 from behind the arc.
  • Muskingum freshman Marcus Dempsey added 20 points and four assists.
  • Muskingum scored a season-high 101 points and registered 16 assists.
  • Chris Moxley led Heidelberg with 20 points.
  • Myron Prewitt had 18 points and six rebounds for the Student Princes.
  • Mike Mason helped Heidelberg with 13 points and six boards.

First Half

  • Muskingum hit eight three-point shots and were led by Wilson who erupted for a 20-point first half.
  • The Muskies scored the final five points of the frame, including junior Jacob Geller's basket at the buzzer, to take a 52-43 lead into the break.

Second Half

  • Muskingum led by double-figures almost the entire half and ballooned its lead to 96-77 on a Marsh three-pointer with 2:49 left to play.
  • The Muskies shot .563 (18-of-32) in the second half and drained an additional four three-pointers.
