The Muskingum men's basketball team ushered in the Travis Schwab era with a thrilling 90-83 overtime win against Waynesburg in its season opener on Saturday night in an electric Recreation Center. The win marked Coach Schwab's first career victory.

- Muskingum held a moment of silence for the tragic events that took place in Paris on Friday evening.
Game Notes
- Muskingum's 90-point outburst were the most points scored by a Muskie team since the Muskies beat Heidelberg 91-85 on January 11, 2014.
First Half
- The Muskies were led by freshman Jalen Paige who hit 5-of-6 from the field for 13 points and registered two assists.
- Junior Joshua Keyes added six points on 3-of-4 shooting and accounted for two rebounds and three assists.
- Muskingum connected on 12-of-27 (.444) from the floor and hit 5-of-9 (.556) from the free throw line.
- DJ Ritchie led Waynesburg with 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting.
- Waynesburg shot .567 (17-of-30) from the field.
- The Yellow Jackets ended the half on a 17-6 run over the final 6:02 to take a 44-33 lead into the break.
Second Half
- Muskingum was led by junior Joshua Glass and junior Rickey Wilson who each scored nine points.
- Keyes added eight points and four rebounds.
- Paige scored six points and added four assists.
- Muskingum rallied from a 52-39 deficit with 16:49 to play with an 18-6 run over the next six minutes to pull to within 58-57 with 10:50 on the clock.
- The game remained tight through the final 10 minutes. Wilson hit a highlight three-pointer to give Muskingum a 74-73 lead with 26 seconds to play. Glass then added a pair of free throw to propel Muskingum to a 76-73 lead with five seconds on the clock.
- Waynesburg's BJ Duham hit a running three-pointer at the buzzer to tie the game at 76-76. The shot capped off an 11-point half for Durham.
- Richie added seven points for the Yellow Jackets.
- Waynesburg shot 13-of-32 (.406) from the floor.
- Muskingum connected on 15-of-33 (.455) from the field.
Overtime
- Paige and Glass led the Muskies in the extra frame with five and three points, respectively.
- Muskingum outscored the Yellow Jackets 14-7 in the extra session.
- A Keyes free throw at the 4:14 mark gave Muskingum the lead for good at 80-79.
Post Game
- Paige made his collegiate debut with a team-high 24 points and registered a team-best seven assists.
- Keyes poured in 16 points and grabbed six boards.
- Glass recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
- Wilson rounded out the double-digit scoring with 14 points.
- Muskingum shot .455 (30-of-66) from the field.
- Richie led Waynesburg with 25 points and six rebounds.
- Durham added 24 points and three assists.
- The Yellow Jackets shot .446 (33-of-74) from the floor.
