Johnson named OAC Football Offensive Player of the Week

The Ohio Athletic Conference has named Muskingum senior captain running back Bernard Johnson the OAC Football Offensive Player of the Week.

Johnson rushed for a career-high 172 yards and two touchdowns to help lead Muskingum past Wilmington on Saturday, 38-21. He averaged 8.2 yards per carry and had a long touchdown run of 54 yards. The victory was the 11th straight for Muskingum against Wilmington.

Johnson's outstanding game helped Muskingum amass 520 yards of offense, which were the most yards for a Muskie team since 1999 when Muskingum had 591 yards against Hiram. 

Muskingum next plays at 17th-ranked John Carroll on Saturday, October 5. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
