The Muskingum football team dominated Wilmington on a chilly Saturday afternoon in McConagha Stadium en route to a 41-7 season-ending win.

- The contest marked the final game for Muskingum seniors Joey Scott, Mick Fishel, Damon Jones, Dilon Strine, Brett Rosen, Chris Weck, Traci Wilson, Staci Wilson, Sean Gerst, Brannon Scott, Tommy Layman and LaJohn Ellies. The senior class was recognized prior to the contest.
- Muskingum senior wide receiver Damon Jones set the school record for receiving yards in a season with 875 yards on 49 receptions. He broke the record on a 26-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter. The old mark was 805 yards set by current Minnesota Vikings wide receivers coach Darrell Hazell in 1983.
- Muskingum freshman quarterback Brody Hahn set several school marks. Hahn set school records for passing yards in season (2,026), pass completions in a season (177), pass attempts in a season (326), total offense for a season (2,396 - 2,026 pass/370 rush) and tied the record for touchdown passes in a season (14).
- Muskingum's 41-point outburst was the highest point total for the season.
- Muskingum's 453 yards of total offense was the second highest total of the year. The Muskies churned out 529 yards at Otterbein.
- Muskingum held a 13-minute advantage in time of possession and was an impressive 4-of-5 in the red zone.
How It Happened
Muskingum erupted for 41 unanswered points to secure the Senior Day victory. Wilmington took the opening kickoff and went 68 yards on seven plays to grab an early 7-0 lead. After that, it was all Muskies.
Muskingum scored a pair of touchdowns in the first quarter and added three more in the second quarter to take a commanding 34-7 lead into the break. Jones, junior wide receiver Darius Hayes-Carruth, junior tight end Granger Long and junior running back Anthony Cole-Young all scored touchdowns, with Cole-Young having two. Jones completed the scoring late in the third quarter with a 12-yard reception from Hahn.
Inside The Numbers
- Hahn led the Muskie offense going 21-of-29 for 315 yards and four touchdowns.
- Jones led all receivers with six grabs for 118 yards and two scores. He ended this career with 1,818 yards receiving, which ranks fourth all-time.
- Long added six receptions for 91 yards one one touchdown.
- Junior Jesse Mann added a a career-high four receptions for a career-best 46 yards.
- The rushing tandem of freshman Cameron Near and Cole-Young paced the Muskie running game. Near had 53 yard on 12 totes, while Cole-Young had 51 yard on 14 carries with two touchdowns.
- Fishel led the Muskie defense with nine tackles. He ended his career with 248 stops, which ranks 12th all-time.
- Weck added seven tackles and one tackle for loss.
- Sophomore defensive lineman Tim Ousley notched two stops and one sack. He now stands 13th all-time with 10.5 sacks.
- Freshman defensive back Brian Brown registered two interceptions to raise his season total to six, which ranks seventh for a season.
- Freshman punter Jarett Patton had five boots for 173 yards and placed three inside the 20.
- Wilmington ended the outing with 215 yards of offense.
- Luke Creditt led the Quaker offense throwing for 149 yards and one score, with three interceptions. Ameer Jackson led the receivers with five grabs for 74 yards.
- Steve Broussard, Tre'Quez Parks, Bryan Gonzalez and Deavyn Jones all had seven stops to pace the Quaker defense.
