Freshman quarterback Brody Hahn set school records for passing yards and total offense in a game en route to leading a fourth-quarter comeback that fell short in a 41-27 loss at Otterbein on Saturday afternoon. The game marked the Ohio Athletic Conference opener for both teams.

• Muskingum freshman quarterback Brody Hahn set school records for passing yards and total offense in a game. Hahn accounted for 427 yards of total offense. He went 23-of-37 passing for 364 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Hahn also rushed for 63 yards on 15 totes.
• Muskingum senior wide out Damon Jones had four catches for a team-high 104 yards and one score. His performance elevated his career receiving yards to 1,098. 

How It Happened

• Otterbein jumped out to a 7-0 lead on the first offensive play of the game on a 55-yard touchdown pass from Logan Stepp to Hunter Joseph. 
• The Cardinals used that early momentum to score 27 more unanswered points to take a 34-0 lead midway through the third quarter.
• Muskingum sophomore running back Bernard Johnson rumbled in from two-yards out to to cap off a 10-play, 73-yard drive to give the Muskies their first points of the game late in the third quarter.
• Muskingum scored 21 straight points in the final eight minutes of the game to trim their deficit to 14. Johnson scored on a 60-yard pass from freshman Brody Hahn. Jones hauled in a 43-yard strike from Hahn, and junior tight end Granger Long ended the late surge with a 15-yard touchdown pass from Hahn in the final minute of the game.

• Muskingum erupted for 529 yards of total offense. The Muskies passed for 364 and rushed for 165.
• Johnson rushed for 91 yards on 18 carries with one touchdown and he had four grabs with 96 yards and one score.
• Long had a team-high seven receptions for 80 yards and one touchdown.
• Freshman Drew Lowery led the defensive effort with 11 stops.
• Junior Brandon Schon and sophomore Tim Ousley each made eight stops.
• Otterbein ended the outing with 499 yards of offense.
• Stepp passed for 307 yards, three scores and threw one interception. He also rushed for 121 yards and one score on nine attempts.
• Joseph led the receivers with seven receptions for 181 yards and three touchdowns.
• Fred Hardgrove led the Cardinal defense with 16 tackles.
